JCCC’s new year party is the one of the biggest Japanese business community events. The event is not only for a formal new year greeting (by the way, celebrating the new year is a bigger event than Christmas in Japan) but also for entertainment.
Every year, JCCC invites professional singers or comedians from Japan to the party, and raffle tickets for very nice prizes are sold. CDH has been a proud supporter of this annual event every year. This year, CDH had a booth at the front reception area, and I volunteered to do Emcee the new year’s party.
Since it is a Japanese new year party, I thought I should do it in traditional Japanese way. So, I decided to wear Kimono (Japanese traditional costume). According to JCCC, there was no emcee whom wore Kimono in the past new year parties. So, it is good to hear that I am the first one! Although I have spoken at seminars, it was my first time speaking in front of 1,000 people. I was very nervous when I stood on the stage at the beginning of the party. But, my nervousness gradually became enjoyment as I felt a lot of support from many people. It was a precious experience.
The event is run entirely by JCCC and volunteers. As a member of the team, I’d like to thank those team members from CDH who participated as well as the volunteers from other area businesses and the JCCC.
I wish the year 2015 would be another wonderful year for you!
